Nice mirrors on that first one, and those wheels look like Kurt's old wheels.
This blog is primarily about my red 1978 Honda Civic, but you'll find pretty much anything related to 1st gen Civics, the car shows I go to and stuff related to Honda Motor Company. My Civic is small, it's old, it's red, and some have even gone as far as saying it's cute.....but it's not cute, it's an angry little bastard that will eat your children.

Canada Day BBQ at Justin's
Hey folks, yet another BBQ/1st Gen Civic gathering at Justin's place with a few update pictures to Justin's wagon.
The boys sitting around in Justin's man-cave. Haha, what would a BBQ be without loafing around in someone's garage, half a dozen people drinking beer on a hot summer day, watching one guy work and saying things like "yep".
Vina's monster double burger with cheese gluing two patties together.....sick.
Inserts for his roof rack
Fender bolts in the engine bay.

And of course some of the work has to overflow into the back alley....King of the Hill, live action.
Justin installing the window trim on his wagon.
Haha, the wagon sat in his garage for nearly 3 weeks before he even touched it. Too busy fixing everyone else's car!

0-100km/hr acceleration test + VTEC light
When I saw the youtube vid of Kurt's green machine doing some acceleration tests, my little red monster got jealous and wanted to be on youtube too. I found a dusty old, isolated service road and decided to see if I could make a decent vid of the lil' bastard pulling a decent run.
Unfortunately, wasn't able to pull off a good performance. One of these days, I'll have to pick up some r-compounds and take it to the track for a proper run. The tires were breaking loose with every gear change, so I know it can do better. Also, the clutch just wasn't grabbing at the higher RPMs, and it's a brand new clutch.
Another thing that has never been documented is a neat little feature that Justin and Jay surprised me with when the car was first built - a VTEC indicator light! Hammer on the throttle and when the needle screams past 4500 rpm, a blaring red light tells you you're in VTEC. Not that I need to be told the VTEC has kicked in (because the exhaust note changes drasticalluy), but it is a reallly cool feature. Thanks again boys!
Twyla's b-day, Justin's wagon, my new seats!
Twyla's b-day was a couple of weeks ago and Justin rounded up the 1st gen civic group for a bbq at his place to celebrate.
The birthday girl
And of course what kind of a BBQ woulld it be at Justin's without a peak into the garage? Justin got his car back from the paint shop and it looks absolutely stunning.
While I was back there mucking around, Justin pointed out that my back seats had come back from the upholster guy....nice, new Prelude seats! The material came from the wrecker so they needed to be cleaned, but other than that, awesome.
The guy actually incorporated the bucket seat bottoms from the '96 Prelude seats.....a total of 3 seat cushions and 3 back cushions were used to assemble one bench.
The end result, well, see for yourself the comparison between the original factory bench seat and the new one....thanks Justin!
Kelowna Day 4
Breakfast at Whitespot
Why is a picture of this trailer on the blog you ask? Well, I was stupid enough to follow it while trying to take pictures out the window, and I got a &$*%#@! rock chip in the lens of my Nikon P100. %^&$&#^@!
